A trilogy told across generations

Enter the world of the Torq

Three interwoven stories inspired by the Welsh landscape, old legends and the human duty to care for the places entrusted to us.

The Torq Trilogy — Viridelle, Tawel and Calon a Enaid — is a timeless collection of intertwined tales shaped by friendship, courage and a deep love of the land. Across generations, its characters follow ancient paths, face greed and hardship, and discover that the greatest treasures are not those taken from the earth, but those found in loyalty, stewardship and the human spirit. Written to be told aloud as much as read, the trilogy brings its world to life through rich language, enduring legends and the rhythm of the storyteller’s voice.

Book One Viridelle by Kevin M. Plunkett

Book One

Viridelle

In Viridelle, Gwyntaf is entrusted with a precious gift: seeds capable of awakening the sleeping earth. His journey brings him to Viridelle, a young woman with an extraordinary connection to the land. Together, accompanied by faithful friends, they cross mountains, forests and storm-bound shores to carry the promise of new life across a barren world. Their path is shaped by courage, friendship and sacrifice, while the Great Torq becomes a symbol of responsibility rather than power. It is a story about restoring the land and understanding that its riches must be protected, not possessed.

Book Two

Tawel

Published 1 August

In Tawel, the old tales have faded into half-remembered legend. Tawel, a scholar who hears books speak through thought and dream, discovers the Great Tome and becomes drawn into the forgotten stories of Viridelle, Gwyntaf, Calon and Enaid. Accompanied by Oscar ap Cymru, the swiftest of horses, she travels through Twyllcwm and onward to Cwm Aur, the legendary Mine of Plenty. There she uncovers the truth about the Torq and awakens stories that have slept for generations. But knowledge of the mine also rekindles the danger of human desire.

Book Three Calon a Enaid by Kevin M. Plunkett

Book Three

Calon a Enaid

Calon a Enaid continues the story when the Torq and the wealth of the land are threatened by marauders. Calon knows that the ancient treasure must be hidden beyond the reach of greed and turns to Enaid, wisest of the gwylan, for help. Enaid leads the flock on a remarkable journey before travelling beyond the clouds, guided by the stars of Ursa and Arcturus, in search of a hiding place high in the heavens. Yet the burden of the Torq and the violence of the storm prove too great. Calon rescues his exhausted friend, but Enaid dies in his hands and is transformed into stone by Calon’s tear. Calon then lies beneath the shallow waters of Rhossili, guarding both the Torq and the memory of his friend until the time comes for them to awaken.

The Torq Trilogy

OscarCymru Publishing

Stories to be told not just read.

These are stories made to be heard, not merely read in silence. Speak them aloud and the words begin to discover their true rhythm: characters draw breath, ancient landscapes stir, and forgotten voices seem to gather once more around the fire. Every pause, every change of pace and every rise and fall of the storyteller’s voice brings new colour and meaning to the tale. In the telling, the stories become more than words upon a page; they become a shared journey through myth, memory and imagination, brought vividly to life for a new generation of listeners.
