The Torq Trilogy

The Torq trilogy is 3 performance stories written by Kevin M Plunkett. They tell of the birth of the land destined to become Wales, of the great Torq, a magnificent jewel encrusted necklace and of Calon and Enaid, the Torq guardians.

They were written in a strange order, the third story, Calon a Enaid was written first; Phl Rowe kindly recorded a spoken word version of it and this has received much praise for both the story and his reading.

The Flower Maiden, the first story of the trilogy was written next to a very exacting performance framework, it is the longest of the 3 pieces and takes the reader deep into a world of friendships and beginnings.

The second story, The Torc was written last and is the glue between the two.

As a whole, the trilogy is meant to be performed by 3 separate people. The Flower Maiden is recounted by a bard in full possession of his powers, strong in Welsh tongue. The Torc should be told by a young wizard, nieve but enthusiastic, Calon a Enaid by the same wizard but 100 years later.
